The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) joined government officials, business leaders, investors, development partners and other key stakeholders at the 2026 Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit organised by NDCCITMA, held from Tuesday, September 15 to Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Obi Wali Cultural Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Held under the theme, “Unlocking the Niger Delta’s Economic Potential for Sustainable Investment,” the summit provided a platform for stakeholders to explore practical strategies for attracting investment, strengthening regional economic cooperation and promoting sustainable economic growth across the Niger Delta.

Representing the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, FIPS, the Director of Legal Services, Mr. Naboth Onyesoh, Esq., delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Board. He underscored the importance of strategic partnerships, regional integration and coordinated investment in unlocking the vast economic opportunities within the Niger Delta.

Drawing from the Board’s 16-year experience in implementing the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act, NCDMB highlighted the critical role of local content in strengthening indigenous enterprises, promoting industrialisation, developing human capacity and technology, creating employment opportunities and expanding value creation within the Nigerian economy.

The Board further called for stronger collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, development partners and other relevant stakeholders to drive the development of shared infrastructure, facilitate regional commerce and create a more conducive investment environment.

According to the Board, sustained collaboration and coordinated economic development initiatives are essential to positioning the Niger Delta as a competitive economic growth corridor capable of attracting sustainable investments and creating long-term opportunities for its people and businesses.

The NCDMB delegation to the summit included the Manager, Stakeholder Relations, Mr. Teddy Bai; Supervisor, Transformational Projects, Dr. Zuwairat Ezekome; and other members of staff of the Board.

The Board’s participation further reinforced NCDMB’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote local enterprise development, investment, industrialisation and sustainable economic transformation in the Niger Delta and beyond.
